Obracadobra Residency, Oaxaca, Mexico, July 2022
The following was shot on multiple phones and a 35mm camera. These images represent what inspired me in Oaxaca and some of the work I made in response. A family emergency cut my residency and projects short. What moved me most about Oaxaca is how the walls and surfaces in the city are constantly changing and alive with deterioration, restoration, graffiti, raw organic materials and plant life. Sections in the walls are often framed out, exposing and acknowledging what came before.
